our community
Sik-E-Dakh First Nation holds a community election every two years to elect a Chief and four Councillors. Chief and Council carry the responsibility of providing leadership and representing the voices, needs, and aspirations of our people.
Guided by our traditions, culture, and connection to our lands and community, Chief and Council work together to strengthen our Nation, support the well-being of our members, and create opportunities for our people today and for generations to come. Through respect, unity, and shared responsibility, they strive to uphold the values of Sik-E-Dakh and ensure that the community continues to grow while honouring where we come from.
Chief Jennifer Sampare
Term duration 2026-2028
Chief Jennifer Sampare is serving as Chief of Sik-E-Dakh First Nation for the 2026–2028 term. Having previously served on Council, Chief Sampare brings experience in community leadership and a strong understanding of the responsibilities that come with serving the people of Sik-E-Dakh.
Known for her calm and thoughtful approach, Chief Sampare is a leader who listens, seeks to understand, and approaches challenges with compassion and patience. Her experience working in a role that supports women and families has further strengthened her understanding of the importance of care, safety, and support within a community.
As both Chief and Chair of Council, she provides leadership and works alongside the four Councillors to represent the voices and interests of Sik-E-Dakh members. Together, Chief and Council are committed to strengthening the community, supporting the well-being of its people, honouring its culture and traditions, and creating a strong foundation for future generations.
Chief Sampare believes in leading with respect, understanding, and a willingness to work together. Her leadership is grounded in the belief that a strong community is built by listening to its people, supporting one another, and working collectively toward a better future for Sik-E-Dakh.
