About the Land Management Department

Welcome to the Land Management Department of Sik-E-Dakh, BC. Our department is committed to protecting and managing the land, water, and resources of our community through a combination of traditional knowledge and contemporary land-use practices. Guided by our cultural values, we work to ensure that the land is used sustainably and in a way that respects the rights of our people and future generations.

Core Community Services

Land Use Planning

  • Development and implementation of Comprehensive Community Plans (CCPs)

  • Zoning, subdivision, and development guidelines to support community growth

Land and Resource Management

  • Oversight of land leases, permits, and allocations.

  • Management of Certificates of Possession (CPs) and individual landholdings.

  • Environmental monitoring and resource conservation efforts.

Infrastructure and Asset Management

  • Planning and maintaining community infrastructure to ensure its long-term sustainability.

  • Oversight of capital projects under the Capital Facilities and Maintenance Program (CFMP).

Community Engagement

  • Collaboration with community members to gather input and align projects with community priorities.

  • Workshops and public meetings to provide updates and gather feedback on land and infrastructure initiatives.
